The Ten Commandments!

Greetings Friend!

We'd like you to study this topic with a open mind and heart. In other words, it is recommended that any preconceived knowledge and studies are put aside. We are not looking forward to indoctrinate anyone into believing in any partial traditional doctrines and/or personal views. Rather, we'd like you to study and look at the word of God for what it is and as it was meant to be understood.

The Word of God - tells us – we must study it by cross referencing every word and verse: “Here a little, there a little”.

Isaiah 28:10-16 King James Version
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: 11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. 12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. 13 But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken. 14 Wherefore hear the word of the Lord, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem. 15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: 16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

Here we read certain false prophets were patronizing their own understanding as opposed to heeding the word of the Lord! This is why - we must study it by comparing word upon word, verse against verse and looking at the original language instead of the translated one! In addition, we must look at past history in order to co-relate prophecy. So when it comes to the Ten Commandments – The Lord has given us clear instructions to understanding what He meant as the word was given to the prophets and Apostles.

First, we must understand The LORD our GOD, YAH, infills us with His Holy Spirit to teach us certain things according to His Will, and not ours. We can learn about it by reading:

Exodus 31:1-5 King James Version
And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 2 See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: 3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, 4 To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, 5 And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.

So looking into the original language, “Bezaleel” is the strong Hebrew word, H1212, which means “In the shadow (protection) of ELOHIYM (GOD)”

Bezaleel has been chosen to execute a specific task. On that same token, Moses was a chosen vessel to bring the laws and precepts of God to the world. On mount Sinai, The Lord gave Moses two laws, let us read:

Divine Law, written by The Heavenly Father's own finger:

Exodus 24:12 King James Version
And the Lord said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.

The Word of God is Pure and Holy!

Exodus 31:18 King James Version
And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

“Finger” of God - it simply means that - YAH wrote the ten commandments using His literal hand finger. Hebrew word, H676, which means “finger”

Exodus 32:15-16 King James Version
And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written. 16 And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables.

Please note the tablets were given to Moses already engraved. Moses did not chiseled nor edged them, but rather the Heavenly Father himself made them.

The Divine Law (law of love) relates to the Ten Commandments
Instructions referring to the relationship between us and our creator and our fellow human beings.

First four reminds us to Look Upwards everyday!

01. THOU SHALT HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

03. THOU SHALT NOT TAKE THE NAME OF THE LORD THY GOD IN VAIN

The other six instructions relate to our relationship with our fellow men (humankind).

10. THOU SHALT NOT COVET

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Each one of them was to be kept and written in our hearts if we wanted to live at peace and enjoy a plentiful life by obeying our creator's advise. They were to be taught and shared among God's people. Some might say, see this is not for me - I'm not an Israelite!

Question:
Are we better off or different than Egypt today? Is there wickedness and evil in our modern world as of right now? Is it worse now than then? Think about it!

These commandments were given to the whole world forever and ever! And no only to physical Israel, but also to Spiritual Israel - meaning to those willing to heed and obey the Lord's commandments! This is confirmed in:

Romans 2:28-29 King James Version
he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Ceremonial Laws (dictated by YAH), written by the hand of Moses:

The Word of God is Pure and Holy! These were to be taught as a progressive practical pattern, some sort of tutor until the one who would replace them would come - meaning, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!

What does this mean? The Hebrew people needed to cleanse themselves from Egypt's customs, religions, food, idolatry, and what not. As a result, GOD gave them specific ordinances, rules, and regulations to follow so they can purify their hearts, minds, and souls to be ready to witness (share the law of love) to the world. They were meant to bring light and truth.

The world needed to learn we were sinners, in bondage, not worthy of God's glory. As a result, they (Israelites) were being trained, washed, prepared through sacrificial ceremonies and offerings for the true heavenly sacrifice and for the remissions of sins. So at the appointed day, YAH, our Heavenly Father, would not longer require this ceremonial laws - animal blood would not be spilled. But, the blood from the Lamb of God - His blood, Jesus's blood would be offered for the sins of the world and God's patterned plan would have been fulfilled!

Ceremonial laws demmanded and mandated daily work and constant activities such as:

01. Circumcision
Exodus 4:25-31 King James Version
Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me. 26 So he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision. 27 And the Lord said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him. 28 And Moses told Aaron all the words of the Lord who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him.29 And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel:30 And Aaron spake all the words which the Lord had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people. 31 And the people believed: and when they heard that the Lord had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.

Genesis 17:10-14 King James Version
This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised. 11 And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you. 12 And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed. 13 He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. 14 And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.

02. Animal Sacrifice
Exodus 20:22-26 King James Version
And the Lord said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven. 23 Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold. 24 An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee. 25 And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it. 26 Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.

03. Food Offerings
Exodus 23:14-16 King James Version
Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year. 15 Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:) 16 And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.

Exodus 23:19-22 King James Version
The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk. 20 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. 21 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him. 22 But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries.

04. Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly Feasts and many others
Leviticus 23 King James Version
And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts. 3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings. 4 These are the feasts of the Lord, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. 5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord's passover. 6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. 7 In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. 8 But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. 9 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: 11 And he shall wave the sheaf before the Lord, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. 12 And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the sheaf an he lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering unto the Lord. 13 And the meat offering thereof shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto the Lord for a sweet savour: and the drink offering thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of an hin. 14 And ye shall eat neither bread, nor parched corn, nor green ears, until the selfsame day that ye have brought an offering unto your God: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: 16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days (Pentecost); and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the Lord. 17 Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals; they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the Lord. 18 And ye shall offer with the bread seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be for a burnt offering unto the Lord, with their meat offering, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet savour unto the Lord. 19 Then ye shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings. 20 And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits for a wave offering before the Lord, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to the Lord for the priest. 21 And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations. 22 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the Lord your God. 23 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. 25 Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord. 26 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord. 28 And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the Lord your God. 29 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people. 30 And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people. 31 Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath. 33 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 34 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the Lord. 35 On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. 36 Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein. 37 These are the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day: 38 Beside the sabbaths of the Lord, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the Lord. 39 Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the Lord seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath. 40 And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days. 41 And ye shall keep it a feast unto the Lord seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month. 42 Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths: 43 That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God. 44 And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts of the Lord.

The Word of God is Pure and Holy! It is very important we retain the concept of both laws - it is the clue to understanding where they stand in our present modern world. Both of these sets of laws were important to our Heavenly Father, however one of them was to be replaced by the death of Jesus at Calvary.

John 3:16 - Savior and Passover
John 6:35 - Bread of Life
1 Corinthians 15:20 - First Fruits
Acts 1:4 - Pouring of the Holy Spirit - Pentecost
Matthew 22:10 - Wedding Celebration, Trumpets
Luke 23:46 - Atonement
Revelation 21:3 - Tabernacles

Remember the hand of Moses? The ceremonial law in ordinances, sacrifices, precepts, and what not. They were a tutor until the day of Jesus Christ. He was the ultimate ceremonial law and feast fulfilled at the cross and now we are saved by grace through faith and not by works.

Does this mean we are not accountable for sin? Can we simply lie, worship idols, murder, commit adultery, steal, covet, etc? Not at all! We are still accountable for the way we relate to the Lord upwardly and our fellow human beings outwardly according to the Heavenly law - the law of LOVE!

Are not all laws nailed to cross? Not at all, only the one written by the hand of Moses..

Colossians 2:8-17 King James Version
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. 16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
Ephesians 2:10-22 King James Version
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. 11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. 18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

The Lord wants us to Love the father and our fellow men or is it Ok to worship idols, murder, lie, commit adultery, etc.? It is very clear we must heed to the heavenly law written with the finger of our Heavenly Father, the Almighty GOD!
The Lord says: "If you love me keep my commandments.."

John 14:15 King James Version
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 15:10 King James Version
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Remember, only those who heed God's commandments will have the right to enter the kingdom of God and I want you to be there with the rest brethren!

Revelation 12:17 King James Version
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 14:12 King James Version
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Revelation 22:11-14 King James Version
He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Yes, we are saved by grace not to run to sin, but from sin! Always remember Uzziah (2 Chronicles 26) and Saul (1 Samuel 9 thru 17).

May the Prince of Peace - our Lord Jesus Christ be in your heart forever!
